Ghat Clean-Up & Environmental Awareness Initiative

MANTRAS Foundation undertook a community-driven Ghat Clean-Up & Environmental Awareness Initiative at the Ahiritola, Benitola, and Sovabazar ghats in Kolkata. The initiative brought together more than 70 dedicated volunteers who actively participated in cleaning and restoring the riverfront areas. The campaign aimed to encourage responsible environmental practices and highlight the importance of keeping public spaces and riverfront ecosystems clean and sustainable. Through active community participation, volunteers contributed to improving the cleanliness of the ghats while creating greater awareness about environmental stewardship and collective responsibility. The initiative demonstrated how coordinated community action can create a meaningful impact on local surroundings. By engaging volunteers in hands-on environmental work, MANTRAS Foundation encouraged people to take an active role in protecting and preserving shared natural spaces for a cleaner and more sustainable future.
